The funds our quiz event raises will support our World of Difference programme, helping local churches around the world lead their communities out of extreme poverty and into a sustainable future.
You’ll support people like Amareech, a widow in Ethiopia. She and her baby daughter faced severe poverty as she struggled to grow enough food to sustain them. Passing a neighbour’s mulch-covered plot one day, she asked about the strange sight. He told her about the opportunity to learn about conservation agriculture from Tearfund’s partner.
Amareech had been ostracised, and says she was stressed, poor and afraid – but thanks to the support she received from our partner, those days are long-gone for Amareech! Ten years later, she grows enough drought-resistant crops for her household and to sell in the market. Amareech’s harvest provides a sustainable income, and now her little farm even outperforms her neighbours!
