Prayer and Self Denial Appeal #1
By now you will be aware that we are having our annual appeal for Prayer and Financial support for our team of workers from Baptist churches who have gone to serve God in Asia through Tranzsend, the sending arm of the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society.
This is your opportunity to contribute to the support of this wonderful team of people who are serving on behalf of all of us who are Baptist church members. We can’t all go to Asia but we all have a responsibility to support those who have gone.
We met Peter and Leonora de Vries last week and saw what high calibre people we have on the mission field. We learned how these humble, faithful folk left 20 years ago with a young family to help transform the lives of the most enslaved people in Kolkata and share the love of God with them. What a joy to hear how Milly, the daughter of a prostitute with no hope of escaping following in her mother’s footsteps, took the chance to find a new pathway, hungered and thirsted continuously for God, who gave her freedom to live as His child. Having married a godly man she and he are now going to manage the Goat Project in Murshidabad which Colin and Tania Anderton developed as a way to prevent young women being trafficked to Kolkata into prostitution.
Please use the green booklet in your devotional time and ask the Lord how he would have you contribute.
