Our lives are made up of moments in time. Some sad, some happy, some challenging, some tedious, some fulfilling and so on. How we live out those moments can depend on how we feel, how we think, what we focus on and who we mix with.
I have several special people in my life, but two, who are worthy of a mention, are my 9 year old grandson and my Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. My grandson has poor health and lacks enough stamina to complete a full week of school but he lives in the here and now with great enthusiasm and with a special empathy for others.
Despite being conceived out of wedlock and being hunted down at the time of his birth and despite being crucified for a crime he did not commit, Jesus made the most of every opportunity that came his way. He loved, encouraged, warned and taught his disciples. He spent time in prayer with his heavenly Father. He sought out and ministered to the outcasts in society; healed the sick and raised the dead. More importantly, he willingly embraced the Father’s will and endured a sinner’s death so that all who believe in him will be saved and raised with Him into eternity.
How do you live out the moments in your day? What is your approach to life when things are difficult? Who is your source of inspiration? I am challenged by the following verses. “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15&16.
