Praying for our own circumstances
Philippians 4 v 6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Over the first few months of this year we have really found it tough going, as business owners, we have suffered from lack of work, injury & staff shortage. As you can imagine this can get you down to the point where you wonder if it’s worth the effort.
The value of prayer has been hit home over this time. We/I as Christians have a hard time praying for good things to happen for ourselves. We are more than happy to pray for everyone and everything but our own betterment. But over this time the Lord has reminded me that as Philippians says, let your requests be made known to God. It doesn’t say that these are only the big requests but everything, big and small.
When lying in a hospital or recovery bed we are given much time for contemplation, resulting in anxiousness about things out of our control.
Prayer was the answer to that, laying everything at Gods feet proved to be the answer, as he says he will, maybe not right then and there but in his time, answer his people.
Using the Church prayer chain was a huge blessing and those prayers were answered within days of circulation.
Thank you to all those dedicated prayers in our congregation, you are greatly appreciated.
The faithfulness of our God is unfailing. It is our faith that fails.
