Patience
James 1:2-7

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”
Over the last year or so I have been on two committees which have involved some form of waiting, whether it was waiting on God for direction, answers to prayer or waiting on a process or event to take place.
Throughout this time as the verses above say, the faith I have in the answers being provided or the timing being just right, it has taught me, and produced the gift of perseverance, (and it is a gift) as in the normal run of life it is not something I thrive at.
The waiting and praying involved in both processes has indeed grown my walk with the Lord and encouraged me to know that the Lord does supply the answers to all of life’s questions and deliberations but not necessarily in the timing we desire.
