PROCRASTINATION

I wonder how often in my life have I thought too long and hard about certain things that in the end probably didn’t matter. Also through my inactivity on some points has someone missed out on a blessing because I wondered if I should have done something there and then instead of weighing up the pros and cons.

I have to admit jumping in without wisdom can also have disastrous effects and it can be difficult sometimes to discern the will of God in some experiences, but I believe God is in control and no matter what shortcomings I have in these incidents God will still work out His blessings.

The first chapter of the book of Haggai is about the return of the Israelites from captivity and their inability to start what God wanted them to do which was the first commandment given them. ”I am the Lord your God you shall have no other gods before me”
Instead they were intent on looking after themselves Haggai 1:5-7. Haggai was sent to stir them up out of their procrastinating ways and put them back into God’s order once again.

Since retirement I have been able to start to put things back into order in my life mainly by being able to start most days now with a reading and prayer time with Frances but also to do my own private bible reading. Instead of thinking about it, I now do it, because I love to do it.

God bless.
