“A good father is one of the most unsung, un-praised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” Billy Graham.
“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” Theodore Hesburgh
“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” Clarence Budington
“Any man can sire children, but it takes loving on-going commitment to father them.” Geoff Follas
“It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.” Pope John XXIII
A father is respected because he gives his children leadership; appreciated, because he gives his children care; valued, because he gives his children time; loved, because he gives his children the one thing they treasure most – himself.
Looking back over my days of parenting, I have many regrets. I poured my life into my work and didn’t give my children the time and attention I should have. If I was doing it again I would have spent more time with my children doing things they enjoy and chilling out with them.
In spite of all this I am very thankful that I have a close loving relationship with them and I really enjoy every moment we spend together. It’s such a blessing and a privilege to be a father.
Make the most of it because life is too short and don’t forget to pray for you kids every day.
Geoff
