The Guidance by the Holy Spirit
Let’s ask ourselves whether we would rather have been a disciple of Jesus during His ministry.
When Jesus came and walked about doing His Fathers will, the people heard, saw, and followed him. Jesus spoke with wisdom and guidance he gave comfort and concern, then told them He must go back to his Father. Understanding their troubled thoughts, He assured them of coming of the Holy Spirit to be in, and with them, and what He would do, which was far better. This being so, how well do we hear the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit.?
The Holy Spirit is the perfect gentlemen, He gives guidance of course through our prayers also in different ways at times often reminding us of a scripture, at times also by His voice directly. In the Old Testament the Prophet Isaiah says 30:21 says
“And when you turn to the right or turn to the left, your ears will hear a message behind you: “This is the way, walk in it.”
The Holy Spirit gives us clear understanding of what He desires to do.
The Apostle Paul says in Colossians 1.9-12 “For this reason, since the day we heard about this, we have not stopped praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will with respect to all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might live in a manner worthy of the Lord and be fully pleasing to him as you bear fruit while doing all kinds of good things and growing in the full knowledge of God. You are being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might, so that you might patiently endure everything with joy”.
Whatever our plans are day by day lets be sensitive the Holy Spirit speaking to us leading us.
