Growing up and older!

We as a family have reached the milestone in life where the kids are starting to leave the roost and begin lives on their own. As this time has approached we have joked about how great it’s going to be when the noise goes and the fridge stays full for more than a few days.

These moments of just Darby and Joan at home have become a little more regular recently and it is a difficult transition to adjust to.

I’ve had time to reflect on the job we have done as parents and we can only trust God that we have prepared our little ones for the life ahead.

I was reading in  1Chronicles 28v9-10:  ” And you my son Solomon acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the LORD  has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”

I guess this is our prayer for our children as they start to build their own lives and families, that we have taught them to seek the Lord in all things.
