I have been pondering lately about Psalm  51:10 says: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

I know that I am created in God’s image and as a believer I am sealed with God’s Holy Spirit, but I am also painfully aware of how fallible I am and how mediocre my witness can be. As a result I seem to represent the world more than I do the life of my Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you ever feel like this?

We need to be in a place where we can hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us. Perhaps we spend too much time “doing” rather than reading His Word with a grateful, expectant heart.

Maybe we are overwhelmed by individual circumstances and need to rest in the arms and love of the Almighty.

Perhaps we expend too much energy being angry or offended at people or situations, instead of extending forgiveness to others.

Maybe we worry about things out of our control instead of trusting God in ALL things.

Let’s examine our hearts and ask God for His forgiveness and focus on the life-giving words and promises contained in His Word, the Bible.

Blessings
