Rob and I have spent the better part of the last 34
months living here in Hamilton. The first week upon
arriving here from the US we chose to visit Fairfield
Baptist. Our intention was to visit a different church the
next week, and so on, until we found our new church
home. When we left Fairfield that first Sunday we didn’t
feel the need to look any further. What we had found
was a friendly church, with a dynamic, Godly pastor and
sincere worship.
The next Sunday at Fairfield we received an invitation to
lunch at the Pastor’s home and also an invitation to tea
at the home of two of the founding members. As we
continued to attend we were invited to join a small group
Bible study where we developed deep friendships, we
had multiple invitations for meals and outings from many
church members, and fishing trips were planned partly
because of Robert’s love of fishing. There has also been
a couple in our small group who allowed us to stay in
their home and use one of their cars and store our
belongings for a time. We have been so impressed and
humbled by the hospitality and friendships that have
been extended to us. We have been made to feel like
family and Fairfield has become like home.
Now as we leave to go back to the States we leave with
many fond memories, great enduring friendships, and
sadness to say goodbye. We thank God for every
remembrance of you. We are sure of this, that God Who
started a good work in you will carry it on to completion
until the day of Christ Jesus. We pray that your love will
keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discern
-ment so that you can determine what really matters and
can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, filled
with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus
Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (taken from
Philippians 1:3-11)

With love and appreciation,
