2 Cor. 9:15 – “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.”
God is the first giver, he selfishly gives himself to us in the person of his own Son and all Christians respond with gratitude and thanksgiving for this gift that is beyond description.
2 Cor. 2:14 – “Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spread everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him”.
We are called to spiritual warfare and led by God in Christ, and it is through him that God spreads every-where the “fragrance” of the knowledge of God. To those who welcome God’s saving grace, the Christian’s testimony is the fragrance of life. Are we up to the task?
1 Cor. 15:57 – “But thanks be to God, He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.
Because of Christ’s resurrection we know that serving him is not an empty, useless activity, our labour in the Lord is not in vain. Our efforts are an investment in the Lord’s winning causes. We will also be rewarded at the second coming.
The above three verses of thanksgiving to God cover the history of the Christian’s life – past, present and future.
We thank God for the Gift above all gifts – the Gift of His beloved Son, who saved us, who sanctifies us, and will lift us up to Glory.
What a Gift the Father God gave us when he sent His Son to save poor, ruined, guilty man from sin and give them new life, faith and hope.
