Do Not Worry

God is our refuge and strength, an ever -present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging“. (Psalm 46:1-3)

In these days when there are so many disasters in the world, and often in our own lives, it is easy to worry. But over and over in scripture we are told not to worry, and not to fear. Our God is able to rescue us, and to be with us in difficult times.

Psalm 40:2 He lifted David out of the miry clay. Psalm 23:4 We are told that even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we are to fear no evil, for He is with us, and His rod and staff will comfort us.

The shepherd’s rod was used for guiding and protecting the sheep. The staff was an instrument of support. So the Great Shepherd promises to be with us, guiding and helping us all the way.
