Faithfulness

In our journey of life, some things come and pass by and some things seem to stay forever.

Lamentations 3:22-23 captures this “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
On the very early morning of the 2000 millennium, along with 4,000 others, we were climbing up the steep track towards the top of Mt Iron, near Wanaka. In the darkness as we trudged up the track, I heard a young boy ask his Father a searching question about the millennium’s first sunrise. His Father’s reply has stuck with me. “Son, if the sun does not rise, then we are all in deep trouble.”
How often do we take God’s faithfulness for granted?
Every morning is a continuing miracle of God’s faithfulness.
As the old hymn puts it:-
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases His mercies never come to an end, They are new every morning New every morning Great is Your faithfulness, 0 Lord Great is Your faithfulness
Thank you God for your faithfulness.
